Work Package 1 – Project Management<\/h2>\n

Brief Description:<\/strong><\/p>\n

The aim of work package 1 is to deliver project management and support project implementation in all organizational matters. Besides being responsible for delivering periodic reports, this involves financial management, change management and knowledge transfer, dissemination of project progress and results (e.g. via the project website, blogposts, and conference presentations) as well as consulting with and development of recommendations for other universities.<\/p>\n

Work Package 2 – Developing & Implementing RDM Tools<\/h2>\n

Brief Description:<\/strong><\/p>\n

The primary aim of work package 2 is the introduction of machine-readable data management plans (maDMPs) in line with the Research Data Alliance (RDA)’s recommendations as well as securing their interoperability with existing systems to guarantee efficient research data management (RDM) from the project planning phase until data archiving. This is achieved thoruhg the provision of computational resources and algorithms based on extant repositories for research data (eInfrastructure project as well as university-specific solutions)<\/p>\n

Work Package\u00a03 – Next-Generation Repositories<\/h2>\n

Brief Description:<\/strong><\/p>\n

The aim of work package 3 is to develop and enhance repositories with innovative features and technologies for research data, code, anad databases. The framework will be deployed in such a way so that it can be enhanced for other systems in the future (i.e beyond the project) (in accordance with RDA WGDC). Implementation and expansion will take place via the digital university hub<\/p>\n

    Work Package\u00a0\u00a04 –\u00a0Repository Systems:\u00a0Deployment and Rollout<\/h2>\n

    Brief Description:<\/strong><\/p>\n

    The main aim of work package 4 will be to deploy and roll out the repository systems in close collaboration with lead communities. Work package for will collaborate with lead communities in three phases:<\/p>\n

      \n
    1. establishment and definition of requirements; homogenisation and prioritisation of discipline-specific requirements and implementation of the latter into the development processes of work packages 2 and 3<\/li>\n
    2. deployment, adjustment of interfaces and evaluation of the developed RDM\/repository systems resp. usage of hosted services. Upon completion, InvenioRDM, Gitlab as well as other services will be available as hosted or turnkey solutions<\/li>\n
    3. Deployment and rollout of the systems through different project phases. RDM-Tools, next-generation repositories and training programmes will be established at Austrian universities while at the same time maintaining support of cooperation partners and transition into operational mode.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Work Package\u00a05 – Process Development, RDM Training & Support<\/h2>\n

      Brief Description:<\/strong><\/p>\n

      The aim of work package 5 is the development of processes, sustainable models, tools and trainings for the entire research data lifecycle. To this end, the work package will deliver needs analyses of the organisational units and their roles involved as well as analyses of incentive structures and Open Science practices to ensure that the repository systems conform to the FAIR principles with a focus on findability and accessibility.\u00a0A further aim is the treatment of legal questions regarding Open Science as well as the development of infrastructures, including the drafting of SWOT-analyses for data stewardship models and ensuing recommendations.<\/p>\n

      A central aim of the work package is the development of a data stewardship programme to support FAIR data practices (Lead Data Stewards: TU Graz). Additionally, we work towards FAIRification of extant services\u00a0and the development of new FAIR infrastructures and value-added services, including conception and implementation of training modules for Open Science and FAIR Data Management based on extant programmes such as Data\/Software Carpentry\u00a0and Open Science MOOC.<\/p>\n
