Concepts must be developed and implemented to coordinate the interaction between research information systems and research data management infrastructures with the aid of digital technologies.<\/p>\n<p>In the \u201cResearch Data\u201d cluster, several Austrian universities have joined forces with three national funding organisations \u2013 the Austrian Science Fund (FWF), the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG), and the Vienna Science and Technology Fund (WWTF) \u2013 in order to meet these challenges. The cluster comprises three funded projects that emerged from the 2019 call for tender \u201cDigital Transformation in Higher Education\u201d by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bmbwf.gv.at\/Themen\/HS-Uni\/Aktuelles\/Nachbericht-Digitalisierung.html\">Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research<\/a> (BMBWF). The three projects \u2013 RIS Synergy, FAIR Data Austria and Austrian DataLAB and Services \u2013 were launched in 2020.<\/p>\n<p><div style=\"width: 1200px;\" class=\"wp-video\"><!--[if lt IE 9]><script>document.createElement('video');<\/script><![endif]-->\n<video class=\"wp-video-shortcode\" id=\"video-5028-1\" width=\"1200\" height=\"573\" preload=\"metadata\" controls=\"controls\"><source type=\"video\/mp4\" src=\"https:\/\/forschungsdaten.at\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/2020-09-29-15-39-30.mp4?_=1\" \/><a href=\"https:\/\/forschungsdaten.at\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/2020-09-29-15-39-30.mp4\">https:\/\/forschungsdaten.at\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/2020-09-29-15-39-30.mp4<\/a><\/video><\/div><\/p>\n<\/div>\n                    <\/div>\n\t\t        \n                    <div id=\"formation-tab\" class=\"clearfix eael-tab-content-item inactive\" data-title-link=\"formation-tab\">\n\t\t\t\t        <h2>FORMATION<\/h2>\n<div><span lang=\"EN-GB\">The clustering of various <\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\">digitisation <\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\">projects was determined by the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bmbwf.gv.at\/Themen\/HS-Uni\/Aktuelles\/Nachbericht-Digitalisierung.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">BMBWF <\/a>as part of the project approval for the call \u201cDigital Transformation in Higher Education\u201d and is intended to support the coordination of projects in which there are substantive points of contact or similarities.<\/div>\n                    <\/div>\n\t\t        \n                    <div id=\"goals-tab\" class=\"clearfix eael-tab-content-item inactive\" data-title-link=\"goals-tab\">\n\t\t\t\t        <h2>GOALS AND TASKS OF THE &#8220;RESEARCH DATA&#8221; CLUSTER<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Optimising the interfaces between the projects RIS Synergy, FAIR Data Austria and Austrian DataLAB and Services<\/li>\n<li>Identifying other possible synergies to create sustainable operational systems<\/li>\n<li>Joint presentation and information<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In addition to the individual project reports, the cluster management also prepares annual progress reports and a final report.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cluster coordination<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The TU Wien is responsible for coordinating the Research Data cluster. Univ.Prof. Dipl.-Ing. Dr.techn. Johannes Fr\u00f6hlich, Vice Rector for Research &amp; Innovation, formally leads the cluster while Dipl.-Ing. Sabine Neff, MSc, TU Wien, Department of Research Information Systems, manages the cluster operationally.<\/p>\n<p>Coordinating the cluster ensures that the projects also coordinate and exchange content, schedules and work packages. A steering group was set up to coordinate and monitor the implementation of the Research Data cluster.
